Process & Safety are #1

Pure Defense process and delivery technology is agent independent, and can deploy many different types of liquid agents in sub-micron aerosol form, depending on the situation and needed results.

However, after considerable effort, and years of careful research, the manufacture we use has chosen to use an EPA-approved PAA agent as its preferred high-level disinfectant, based on its:

Safety profileSuperior efficacy Pharmaceutical quality ingredientsResidue-free after dryingComplete biodegradability into: oxygen, water, and acetic acid (vinegar), vaporsEase of detection for OSHA purposes Environmentally Friendly

PAA is a powerful broad spectrum disinfectant, that is a clear aqueous solution consisting of Peracetic Acid (Peroxyacetic Acid). Altapure recommends using a product containing only pharmaceutical quality raw ingredients. This choice of quality ingredients curtails the introduction of undesirable materials into treated areas like pharmaceutical processing sites and clean rooms.

QUICK FACTS

THE KILL System with an EPA Approved PAA Agent:

6 Log + Kill: C. difficile spores, VRE, CRE, MRSA, viruses

Rapid: Less than 50 Minutes (Entry to Exit)

Low %: Only 0.88 % H2O2 & 0.18 % PAA

Gas-like Performance & Complete Large Area Coverage

Residue Free

Completely Biodegradable / Ends Green

Automated Process: tablet control with data reports

Non-Corrosive: safe for all electronics

100,000+ Hospital Deploys With No Equipment Damage

PAA mix is converted into aerosol .

When the PAA is mixed in the Altapure ® equipment it is converted into an aerosol that consists of the following percentage of ingredients:

Peroxyacetic Acid = 0.18%Hydrogen Peroxide = 0.88%Distilled Water: 98.58% (Total Inert Ingredients: 98.94%)Total = 100.0%

PAA chemistry has been utilized in hospitals and clinics for over 20 years. In addition, it is used in locations such as: industrial laboratories, hospitals, medical product manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, bio-tech companies, and food & beverage processing plants.

PAA is fully-biodegradable and environmentally friendly, and it decomposes and dries into safe and environmentally friendly components of: water vapor, oxygen, and acetic acid (vinegar) vapors. The result is residue-free treated surfaces.

Material Compatibility

The manufactures process can be safely used in many different industries, including all health care environments.

The manufacture has been used for years without any problems in hospitals throughout the United States. For example, during clinical trials at Methodist Hospital, and after more than 1,300 treatments in hospital areas including ICU units, Patient Rooms, Dialysis Facilities, and Operating Rooms, no damage to equipment or employee issues were observed.

As you can see the deployed liquid is dilute, and deployed as sub-micron aerosol fog, the result is a combination of attributes that allows for high material compatibility that is gentle on treated equipment.
